Toys for Tots and Community Action House Drive Posted December 1, 2011 by Dan Cash

Help us help the local community with your donation of a new unwrapped toy; non-perishable food item; personal hygiene product or paper products during our drive taking place until December 19th.  

For each toy donated, Mapleview will put up a $10 credit per toy on your account.  For each non-perishable food item, personal hygiene product or paper product, we'll put a $1 credit p/item on your account.  There is a total of $250 in credits that a client may receive during this year's program.

Headin' Home Pet Rescue, Inc. and A New Start On Life had a Puppy Shower party for 52 puppy mill doggies rescued from Missouri/Oklahoma on Saturday in Holland, MI.  Headin' Home had this to say on Facebook: THANK YOU to all the volunteers and people who came out to support the Puppy Shower! It was a huge success. We received lots of applications on both puppies and older dogs. We will have a lot of work in the next few days processing all the applications. There are lots of wonderful gifts for the pups which they will be very excited to play with. The people of the greater Holland area are awesome and we love you! Thanks again.

With raffles, obstacle courses, vendors and more the Holland Petapalooza celebration with Mapleview Animal Hospital was a major success!  The event raised over $900 for the Holland K9 unit and over 25 pet adoptions!

Back by popular demand, we are again offering Kitten Fixin'. During select days throughout the year, we will be offering 1/2 off the price of cat/kitten

spays/neuters. Cats and kittens must be current on rabies vaccinations. If they're not vaccinated, we can do a rabies vaccination at the time of the

surgery for $13. Due to time limitations, we will not be performing declaws on these dates. An appointment is necessary. The dates for Kitten Fixin'are:

Dr. Jill Veldhoff is a 2004 graduate of Michigan State University’s veterinary school. She resides in Holland. In her free time, Dr. Jill enjoys outdoor activities such as running, walking her dog and camping. Other interests include home improvement projects, baking, sewing and watching movies.

Jim became involved in Greyhound rescue back in 1991 when he adopted his first retired racing Greyhound. Shortly after that, he began doing veterinary work for Second Chance for Greyhounds (Florida) and Second Chance for Greyhounds (Michigan).

In 1998, Jim and his wife, Merri, along with 5 others formed Renewed Life for Greyhounds, Inc. Parting ways with Renewed Life in 2002, Jim continues to be involved in Greyhound adoption currently adopting out retired racing Greyhounds through Mapleview Animal Hospital, PC.
