UNDATED (WSAU) House Democrat Ron Kind of La Crosse gave back a one-thousand-dollar campaign donation from the financial firm of Goldman Sachs. Dozens of Capitol Hill lawmakers received gifts in the past two years from Goldman Sachs – the Wall Street firm that’s accused of misleading investors.
Kind is the only incumbent from Wisconsin to get such a donation. His camp received it in January – and campaign manager Matt Ullsvik said they should have never cashed the check. Ullsvik called it an inadvertent mistake, and they sent the money back.
Kind is opposed in this fall’s election by state Senate Republican Dan Kapanke of La Crosse.
