(Park Twp., MI - WHTC News) - Yesterday morning’s thick fog apparently led to a Park Township crash that hospitalized two drivers.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Cal Keuning and fellow deputies were called to the intersection of New Holland Street and 144th Avenue around 7 AM on a report of a two-vehicle accident. Alex Slagh’s eastbound car had been broadsided by Bill Siersma’s southbound vehicle, and the force of the crash sent both vehicles into a nearby field.
Slagh, a 20-year-old Holland man, had to be extricated through his car’s sunroof by rescue workers. Both he and Siersma, a 42-year-old Zeeland man, were taken to Holland Hospital, with Siersma treated and released, and Slagh initially listed in stable condition.
Keuning added that both men were buckled up at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
