(Dearborn, MI) -- Triple-A Michigan estimates over one-point-two million residents will be travelling over the Labor Day weekend. The figures represent an increase of nearly ten percent compared to last year. Auto Club officials credit stable gas prices that are averaging $2.69 per gallon statewide as one reason for the increase in travel. Nearly 98 percent of all travel over the holiday in Michigan will be by vehicle. The most popular destinations in the state include Traverse City, Frankenmuth, and Mackinaw City.
