(Holland, MI - WHTC News) - The Holland City Council is walking a tightrope these days between providing incentives to growth and providing services to its constituents.
That appears to be at the heart of one of the issues before the panel during tonight’s meeting. The members will be asked to adopt a Tool and Die Renaissance Recovery Zone policy that would help this struggling industry survive in these tough economic times. Three such tax break zones have been approved by council in the past, with two of those three seeking term extensions, and another such zone is being requested.
Among other items on tonight's agenda: The 2010 Community Development Block Grant annual action plan; traffic committee recommendations involving speed limits and no parking zones; and awarding bids for work to stem bank erosion on Windmill Island. The meeting begins in chambers at Holland City Hall at 7 PM.
