(Washington, DC)  --  The U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure is asking the Justice Department to investigate Enbridge Energy over the Kalamazoo River oil spill.  Specifically, lawmakers want Attorney General Eric Holder to look into if the company had coerced individuals under duress to sign away the right to sue Enbridge.  A letter to Holder said many people in the area signed the release in return for air purifiers and hotel reimbursements.

Meanwhile, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment is reminding hunters to be aware of ongoing cleanup efforts in Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties from the oil spill.   Hunters are being encouraged to avoid hunting geese on the Kalamazoo River from I-69 west to Morrow Lake.  Goose hunting season begins today.  Cleanup efforts are happening around the clock on the Kalamazoo River and worker safety is also a concern.
