(Hudsonville, MI - WHTC News) - A 39-year-old Jamestown Township woman was bound over for trial on four felony charges stemming from the shooting of a cow at her boyfriend’s brother’s farm last May. In a preliminary hearing yesterday, Catherine Bender’s 23-year-old son Dustin testified that, while he was inebriated when he shot the animal, it was at his mother’s urging in order to try and intimidate Tom Young into not testifying against his brother Tim in a criminal sexual conduct case. Tim Young eventually pleaded guilty, and Tom Young didn’t have to testify. Dustin Bender testified in a deal with prosecutors that had charges against him reduced.
