(Holland Twp., MI - WHTC News) - In polling conducted by Hope College’s Carl Frost Center for Social Science Research for the Ottawa County Health Department and the County Health Plan Advisory Taskforce, 68 percent of small businesses responding say that they do not offer health care insures to some of all of their employees. The primary barrier to offering such coverage, as well as the biggest factor in discontinuing such coverage, was cost, with 45 percent of respondents saying that they could afford a monthly premium of 50 to 89 dollars per employees. Officials say the results of the Landscape Survey substantiated the need for alternative form of coverage.
