BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) - Enbridge will begin work replacing the pipeline that runs under the St. Clair River, on its way to Sarnia this week.

It’s all part of the agreement to restart pipeline 6-B, after the pipe ruptured in Calhoun County last summer. There have been concerns about the 36-hundred feet of pipe ever since a dent was spotted in the line during a routine inspection. Oil will continue to flow thru the old line, until a new one is completed later this spring. Then the oil will be diverted into the new one, and the old line will be decommissioned.

Line 6-b has been operating with reduced pressure. That means less oil and less profitability. Making these repairs and carefully inspecting the entire route may eventually allow Enbridge to bring the pressure back up.
