Sheboygan, Wis. (WHBL) -
The Plymouth School Board and teachers will convene in separate meetings this afternoon to determine a course of action in the wake of passage of the budget repair bill. Teachers throughout the state are pressing to have contracts extended to avoid the impact of the budget repair bill. Plymouth Superintendent Clark Reinke says they have a memorandum of understanding related to the collective bargaining agreement that the board will discuss in closed session, and then reconvene into open session this afternoon. Reinke said the teachers will also be meeting and the board is expected to take up whatever the teachers are asking. Reinke says they have been bargaining since December. Meanwhile, the Sheboygan Area School Board will also meeting in an emergency closed session at 4:30 this afternoon to discuss a possible memorandum of understanding with its employee groups to deal with the impact of the bill.
