TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WIBQ)- Vigo County will be testing the new Code Red system Wednesday wit a call to residents.

Calls to the entire community will come in the morning, afternoon and evening, and will give public safety personnel the chance to operate the system as if a communitywide disaster were occurring.  The message will direct residents to the Vigo County website, vigocounty.in.gov, to add additional contact information.

“If your contact information is not in the database you will not receive a call when an urgent message is sent,” Sheriff Greg Ewing said in a news release. “All individuals and businesses should … visit our web site and add contact information to include cellular phones and other non-traditional phones as well as email and text addresses.”
