PORT SHELDON TWP., MI (WHTC) - A 31-year-old Muskegon man is dead after his car slammed into the back of a semi-truck on northbound US-31 at Port Sheldon Street during this morning's rush hour. Anthony Doremire was killed about 8 a.m. when his 2007 Honda Accord hit the Freightliner semi at full speed. Witnesses at the scene told the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department that Doremire never made an attempt to slow down or swerve to avoid the crash, and the vehicle was pinned underneath the trailer. Olive Township fire-rescue crews were able to free Doremire, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi and his passenger were not hurt. The crash shut down US-31 for more than three hours.
