Next month in Charlotte, North Carolina, James Taylor will be one of the star attractions at two fundraisers for the upcoming Democratic National Convention. According to the Charlotte Observer , James and first lady Michelle Obama will appear at the events, both of which will be held March 2 at the Ballantyne Hotel.
The first event is an afternoon luncheon, where James will perform. Tickets to that cost $12,500 per couple. That night, he and Mrs. Obama will appear at a reception, where James will perform again. Tickets to that are just $250. Proceeds go to Charlotte’s host committee, to help raise the amount needed to mount the convention.
In other James Taylor news, he's announced a new set of U.S summer tour dates, with most tickets going on sale February 10. He's spending March, April and May overseas in Europe. Here are the dates:
