JENISON, MI (WHTC) - An image from a horror movie was brought to real life by a robber at a Jenison gas station overnight.

According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Brian Buter, a clerk manning the convenience store of Speedway on Baldwin Street eastof 20th Avenue was accosted at knifepoint by a man of normal build but standing only as tall as 5-6. The suspect was wearing a black Carhart-style, waist-length coat with a hood, a dark green skull cap, black pants, black athletic shoes, and a mask modeled after the ghoulish characters in the “Scream” movies.

After fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect apparently ran to a waiting vehicle and sped off, as a police canine could only follow his scent for a short distance. The clerk was shaken but not hurt by the assault.
