BANGOR, MI (WHTC) - A 23-year-old South Haven man is being held in the Van Buren County Jail on five thousand dollars bond after an attempted home burglary late on Monday night. Authorities say that Derrick White tried to get into a Bangor house through the front door, but startled four residents inside, who called authorities. His vehicle was found a short distance away, and White was uncovered by a police canine hiding in a nearby pole barn.
