Hey there Holland, Saugatuck, South Haven and all points in between... I'm Tom Rody, host of the Morning Show on 92.7 the VAN. First, a quick thanks for listening. My goal here is to provide Michigan's Lakeshore listeners with a show that is relaxed and entertaining but focused on the music (truly the BEST playlist in West Michigan, if not the entire planet). I'm just a regular guy who doesn't like getting up at 4am any more than you do. But we do it anyway so together, we'll try to have some fun with it.
About me... (thanks for asking) I started my radio career in Muskegon in the late 70's. In 1981, I moved to Fort Worth, Texas to spend the next twenty-three years frying my brain in advertising and commercial marketing. Pursuing an odd desire to start paying a state income tax again, I moved back to Michigan in 2006 with my beautiful wife, Jennifer. I have a brilliant 3-year-old daughter, Daphne (she does our taxes) as well as a son, Chase, and another daughter, Amber; both attending college in Texas. I've spent the last 3-1/2 years as a producer and on-air personality on WLAV and wasn't really looking to move. But, I'm a Lakeshore kinda guy, so when the opportunity arose to become a part of the ONLY classic station around who is sincerely dedicated to the communities we play music for (right down to individual listeners)... well, the decision was an easy one.
I'm excited to do what I do for you.
Thanks for listening to me do it.
Cheers,
Tom Rody
