HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Verizon Store, 1013 Washington Ave., according to Holland Police Capt. Robert Buursma. No one was hurt during the robbery, he said, and no other customers were in the store at the time.
Police were alerted to the incident at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021.
The clerk told police two men entered the store shortly before the business closed. One suspects pulled out a handgun, directing the two employees to the back of the store. The suspects took an undetermined amount of inventory from the back of the store, fleeing through a rear door.
An employee of a nearby shop told police two men matching the suspects’ descriptions were seen running north from the area.
The suspect with the handgun was described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing grey shirt and grey sweatpants. The second suspect: a black male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing a black jacket. Both men wore masks.
