Hal D. Hoppa, age 74 of Holland, passed away on January 27, 2021. Born and raised on a farm and a farmer for the first part of his life, Hal never was afraid of hard work. He worked at Brooks in Holland and later at Parmalat in Grand Rapids until his retirement. In his retirement, he put his knowledge for tinkering to good use and worked at Menards, helping others with their projects. During his free time, Hal was a talented woodworker and enjoyed traveling. Above all, Hal was a family man, who cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hal was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Beatrice Hoppa, and granddaughter Rielle.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Cristie; Children: Amy and Michael Kite, D’Ann and Christopher Rohrer, Scott and Tracy Hoppa, Traci Hoppa, Jason Hoppa and Kaylee Gray; 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; Siblings: Rex Hoppa, Lee and Lorna Hoppa, Kay and Ron Reiffer; Mother-in-law Betty Speet; Many nieces and nephews; Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at Parkside Bible Church, 14461 James Street in Holland. The family will greet visitors an hour before services. Memorials may be made to the Newaygo County FFA or Parkside Bible Church.
