Lois R. DeBoer, age 93 went to her Heavenly Home on February 25, 2021, at Vista Springs Nursing Facility.
Lois was born in 1927 in Overisel, Michigan to Henry and Grace Lubbers. She was a member of 14th St. Christian Reformed Church, worked for the Holland Shoe Factory during World War II, and later for Holland Hospital, retiring in 1987. Lois was a joyful host to all who came to visit or just drop by for coffee or tea. She will be fondly remembered for camping trips with the children and grandchildren to Ludington State Park. A cheerful homemaker, raising 5 boys kept her busy throughout her early married life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death was her son Richard DeBoer; daughter-in-law Sandy DeBoer; and 2 sisters, Doris Kotman and Hermina Eding.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Lloyd DeBoer; children Allen (Mary), Cal (Rett), Bob (Lin), Jerry (Beth); daughter-in-law Carolyn DeBoer; brother Gradus (Florence) Lubbers; brother in law Paul (Marilyn) DeBoer, sister in law Aleda DeWeerd; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
A private family service to honor Lois’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Pastor Marv Hofman will officiate, and the service will be live-streamed on Lakeshore Memorial’s Facebook page. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
