LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A local road commissioner has assumed a statewide position.
The County Road Association waited 36 days before announcing on Thursday (May 6, 2021) that Allegan County Road Commissioner Larry Brown assumed the reins as the association’s vice president for 2021-22, effective on April 1. Brown has been involved with the ACRC since joining as a project engineer in 1977, rising to become its managing director in 2011 before retiring six years later. He was appointed to the board a year later.
Brown, who has been active in various CRA committees during his years in Allegan County, said in an association statement, “I’m looking forward to serving the CRA board as vice president and chair of its Education Committee. Together, we can improve the outlook for county roads in Michigan, and I’m excited to be a part of that.”
Appointed to serve one year, Brown replaces Fred Peivandi of Genesee County, who takes over as CRA president.
