HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Members of Holland’s strategic development team are hoping to meet with area residents early next week.
The team, created as part of the community energy plan (CEP), online at cityofholland.com/1076/Community-Energy-Plan-CEP-Strategic-Deve is comprised of eight people from the community, higher education, Holland BPW, and City Council representatives appointed by the Mayor and City Council.
The open house is s time to talk about the draft CEP goals, strategies, and action steps planned for the next five years.
Holland City Council adopted the CEP in 2011 as a strategy document to “enhance Holland’s attractiveness to investors, businesses and residents through a cost effective, reliable, and clean energy supply.”
SDT board members include Scott Corbin, a city council member and Allegan County’s emergency manager; Holland BPW Board President Tim Hemingway, Holland BPW board member P.J. Thompson, who is also Trans-Matic Manufacturing Company’s president and chief operating officer; Hope College Professor Jeff Christians, who teaches chemical engineering; sustainability committee liaison Nicki Arendshorst, a city council member; Peachwave CEO Boyd Feltman; Foresight Management (formerly Midwest Energy) President Brian Pageau; and Outdoor Discovery Network President Travis Williams.
They will be at the open house so people can talk to them about the plans, ask questions and offer their own opinions.
Light refreshments will be served at the open house, set for 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16 at Holland City Hall, 270 N. River Ave.
