HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Organizers of the International Festival of Holland are looking for volunteers for the celebration, set for Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at the Holland Civic Center Place.
People who volunteer can pick a 2-hour shift between 12:30 and 9 p.m.
Holland’s International Festival is a “free, family-friendly community event,” say organizers.
Attractions for the day include award-winning performers, hands-on children’s activities, and a marketplace of global goods along with food trucks offering international cuisine.
The International Festival of Holland is organized by the City of Holland’s International Relations Commission and the International Festival of Holland advisory board.
“It takes a village! Love working with kids? We can use you at the Gentex Children’s Fiesta. Are you a foodie? Help our Mercado vendors. Are you a stage hand? Assist our performers back stage. Whatever your interest, we’ve got a spot for you!” said Esther Fifelski, Holland’s Human Relations Department director, Her office works with the International Relations Commission.

The International Festival of Holland started in 2019 with a day-long celebration at the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place, as well as a re-dedication of the Queretaro Fountain Plaza in Kollen Park, marking the 20th anniversary of its donation in a ceremony featuring officials from Holland and its sister city Queretaro, Mexico. The COVID-19 pandemic caused last year’s festival to be cancelled.
