GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The suspect in a nearly 17-hour standoff with police in a Spring Lake area residence has been arraigned.
On Thursday (Aug. 12, 2021), charges of unlawful imprisonment, felonious assault, felon in possession of a firearm, fourth degree fleeing and eluding police, resisting and obstructing police, a felon in possession of firearm, and fourth habitual offender notice were placed against Kenneth Duane Pagel Jr. He was ordered held in the Ottawa County Jail by Grand Haven District Court Judge Craig Bunce on $300,000 bond.
During the arraignment, it was disclosed that several shots were fired by the accused inside of the residence, although there were no reports of any injuries.
A date for a preliminary hearing before Judge Bunce was not immediately disclosed.
