HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland Charter Township’s board of trustees is set to meet at 7 p.m. at the township offices, 353 North 120th Ave. in Holland Twp.
Two public hearings are set for Industrial Facilities Exemption requests:
One, from Superior Cutting Service, Inc., is a 12-year, $2.2 million tax break that company officials say will help retain 35 jobs.
The second, from Volta Power Systems, LLC, is also a 12-year request, for just over $1 million, and would retain the company’s current 32 jobs and add 16 after the expansion is finished.
Trustees will also consideration of resolution for establishing an Agricultural Processing Renaissance Zone at 13044 Quincy St., which is part of a Michigan Economic Development Corporation initiative to support Request Foods’ $7-million expansion.
Township officials were ready for this brownfield redevelopment plan, but must first conduct an environmental assessment and Section 106 reviews on parcels to move forward with the CDBG. Township officials are recommending paying Environmental Consulting Solutions $24,350, based on solicited bids, to do that work.
Trustees will also review and vote on the proposed 2022 budget and property tax levy; the millage will remain at 4.86, the same as last year’s.
