GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 5, 2022) – A fundraising luncheon aimed at improving awareness of date violence towards teens is set for Thursday, February 10th.
The Holland Township-based group Resilience: Advocates for Ending Violence will host its Making a Difference event at the Grand Haven Community Center. According to agency officials, the 12 Noon program will focus on dating violence in the Tri-Cities (Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg) and how the former Center for Women in Transition is working with youth to prevent such incidents, as February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.
Tickets are $35 per person or $200 for a table of six, and proceeds will go towards supporint Resilience services and local survivors. Hosted by former WHTC News Anchor Mary Ellen Murphy, the event will consist of a health-safe, prepackaged luncheon that attendees can either enjoy at the center or at their homes, with the program live streamed though the agency’s website.
