HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 6, 2022) – Looking beyond the Lakeshore is the focus of an online presentation series hosted by the Holland International Relations Commission through a partnership with the World Affairs Council of West Michigan.
Beginning on Monday, February 7th, the eight weekly Great Decisions discussions will bring diplomats, policy mangers, think-tank specialists and journalists to spotlight some of the most pressing global issues today. Each scheduled 75-minute presentation begins at 6 PM, and will be livestreatmed on YouTube and recorded for on-demand viewing.
The first lecture, “The War on Drugs and its Impact on the Environment,” will be hosted by Dr. Jennifer Devine of Texas State University. Other topics include Myanmar and Human Rights, Global Cooperation in Space, Russia and the US, Examining Global Demographic Changes, India and the Quad Alliance, a Just Transition in Climate Change Policy, and Biden’s Foreign Policy Agenda.
Registration is required to view each program, with a $30 pass for Holland Area residents available here. Half of the proceeds of each pass goes to support the city’s IRC programs.
