ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 21, 2022) – For the moment, it will take two persons to fill the shoes of Heather Wood-Gramza.
During tonight’s Zeeland City Council meeting, City Manager Tim Klunder will recommend that Technical Services & User Experience Manager Lindsey Kult and Technology and Business Office Lead Leann Parker share the duties of interim director of the Howard Miller Library/Community Center. Wood-Gramza is stepping down on March 4th to assume the Michigan eLibrary Coordinator’s position at the Library of Michigan, and her last day in office is this Friday (Feb. 25th). The search for a permanent director continues, with Klunder hopeful of having that replacement in place by April.
Also during tonight’s meeting, Police Chief Tim Jungel will recommend to Council that the city stay on the Ottawa County 911 plan. The city has the option to opt out as the county updates the plan’s terms, techniques and technology, and Jungel said that, “There are no significant changes as to how OCCDA services are currently being delivered, and a break from OCCDA would involve hiring and training dispatch staff, buying radio equipment and towers, as well as installing in-car computers.”
The 7 PM biweekly Zeeland City Council meeting in chambers at Zeeland City Hall is preceded by a 6 PM work-study session. The agenda is here.
