- Things to do in April: Spring Fling, hunt for eggs, free movie night. Spring has sprung and Easter is just around the corner. There are plenty of things to do along the Lakeshore in April from Easter egg hunts to watching live
- Partnership with Zeeland’s oldest restaurant brings new eatery. The COVID-19 pandemic has done a great many things. But one of the good ones is to show how much people are willing to help each other. From a partnership with Zeeland’s oldest restaurant and one of its most popular ones, a new venture was formed.
- Make Waves: Adopt a highway, help kids, support trees.Spring is the perfect time to get out and help others. This month’s list of volunteer opportunities includes a wide range of work — from helping kids and domestic violence victims to preparing for the Ottawa Conservation District’s annual seedling sale and adopting a highway.
- Holland-raised musician shares about touring, making President Obama’s list of favorite music. From taking lessons in Holland as a teen to making President Obama’s list of favorite music, Blake Rhein, guitarist for funk and soul band Durand Jones and The Indications, talks about his
journey. - Endowment aims to defray Grand Haven snowmelt system operating costs. The Grand Haven City Council launched an endowment fund to defray the cost retailers and building owners in the downtown shopping district pay for the city-owned snowmelt system.
- Coopersville brewery creates sense of community. A Coopersville native returned to his hometown and opened a craft brewery. Coopersville Brewing Co. is helping put the farming community on the map and creating a sense of community for newcomers and old-timers alike.
- How a small orchestra increased access to the music of once-renowned Black composer. The Holland Symphony Orchestra has made the music of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor available for orchestras around the world to perform.

Hope College Annual César Chávez Lecture "Teatro on the Picket Line: César Chávez, Luis Valdez, and the birth of Chicano Theater” features Dr. Chantal Rodriguez, associate dean of the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University, will focus on origins of the theatre company El Teatro Campesino on the picket lines of Delano, CA, and the influence of Chávez and the United Farm Workers.

Spring Fling at the Critter Barn
The Critter Barn, 9275 Adams St, Zeeland

The Tommy C and Black Widow Grease Band will give a tribute performance to the great
musicians Tommy C has performed with over the years: Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Fats
Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Conway Twitty,
Freddy Cannon and Charlie Pride.
