Mary was born in Allendale, Michigan, graduated from Coopersville High School, and went on to further her education at Grand Rapids Community College. At the age of 28, she moved to Europe, where she lived in Germany and Switzerland for several years. She then returned to the United States, where she made her home in New York City. There she was employed by the New York Stock Exchange as a stockbroker for many years. It was also in New York City where she met and married Ray Miller. Together they moved to Florida where they retired and lived for several years. In 2015, Mary returned back to Michigan, where she was reunited with her family. Mary lived a very adventurous life, and she will be missed dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Evelyn Potgeter; brother-in-law, Virgil Glass; niece, Mary Jill Roon; and nephew, Gary Potgeter.
She is survived by her sister, Lois Glass; nephews and nieces, Jack and Paula Glass, Shelly and Ross VerBeek, Randy and Pam Glass, David and Cindy Potgeter, and Tom and Kaye Potgeter.
A private family memorial service will be held in her honor and to celebrate her life.
Memorial contributions in Mary’s honor may be given to Hospice of Holland.
