HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 19, 2023) – The next step in Holland’s budget-making process takes place on Saturday.
Beginning at 8 AM in the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place, City Council members will huddle with City Manager Keith Van Beek and other key staffers in a several-hour retreat. They will go over comments from the public during two “Coffee with Council” sessions earlier this month, as well as look over what they considered a year ago and how much progress was made, before deciding on priorities for Fiscal 2024 that begins on July 1st. Van Beek and his senior staff will then draw up a proposed spending plan which will be presented formally for approval in mid-May.
Last week, Sixth Ward Councilman Dave Hoekstra and his colleagues saw a number of videos from department leaders, giving their input into this budget-making process.
The retreat is open to the public.
