Jeanne was born in Valparaiso, Indiana, on November 6, 1945, to Edward and Verle (Brisendine) Arden. Jeanne graduated from Illinois State University and became a high school teacher for four years. Later she received her graduate degree from Western Michigan University and became a health planning consultant for 35 years prior to her retirement. She married Max Van Zoeren in April of 1973, and they raised their two sons in Grand Rapids.
Jeanne was always involved in her church, especially as a Sunday School teacher. Jeanne attended Christ Memorial Church in Holland along with her husband. Jeanne was a member of De Colores, the Disciples Bible Study, and a founding volunteer and former President of the Blue Star Bike Trail. She was a determined woman in all she did. She will be dearly missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her twin brothers, Dale Arden and Dennis Arden, and brother-in-law Leon Hardy.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Max, and their children and grandchildren: Brad and Abby Van Zoeren (Frances, Marley) of Oak Park, IL, Geoff and Melinda Van Zoeren (Arden, Tucker, Harper, Brannan) of Huntsville, AL; sisters: Joyce (Ken) Duncan, Janice (Jamie) Herendeen; in-laws: Adella Arden, Thelma (Norm) Machiela, Judy Hardy, Keith (Ann) Van Zoeren, Diane (Kurt) Lower, and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
The Van Zoeren family is grateful for the excellent care and kindness of the staff of American House and Hospice of Holland.
A private family memorial will be held at Christ Memorial Church.
