HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 11, 2023) – Two women from the Chicagoland area were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Hudsonville on Thursday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jeff Steigenga, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the junction of 32nd Avenue and I-196 at 12:30 PM. That was where a northbound vehicle attempted to turn left onto the westbound freeway entrance ramp and apparently didn’t see a southbound vehicle that was attempting to drive through the intersection.
The two women in the northbound vehicle – a 79-year-old driver from Wheeling, Illinois, and a 77-year-old passenger from Arlington Heights, Illinois, were taken to an undisclosed “area hospital” in stable condition, while the driver of the southbound vehicle, a 58-year-old Rockford man, was not hurt.
The collision remains under investigation.
