ALLEGAN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 25, 2023) – A 47-year-old motorcyclist lost his life after colliding with a SUV southeast of Allegan on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Sheriff’s Lieutenant John Damveld, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to Lincoln Road (M-89) east of 113th Avenue around 12:10 PM. That was where the westbound biker crashed into the vehicle that was pulling out of a private parking lot and apparently didn’t see the machine. The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the 56-year-old woman driving the SUV was not hurt.
Sheriff Frank Baker noted the dangers of motorcycle motoring during an appearance earlier this month on “WHTC Talk of the Town.”
No names were immediately disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
