FENNVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 31, 2023) – Fennville’s wide-ranging search for a new school superintendent could reach its climax on Wednesday.
The Board of Education has interviews with three finalists scheduled in the library/media center of Fennville High School (4 Memorial Drive). Beginning at 4 PM, the hour-long sessions with Carlos de la Barrera of Windham, Connecticut, OAISD Director of School Improvement Doug Greer, and Nicole Reyherme of Mill Valley, California are open to the public. They emerged from 15 total applicants and five semifinalists who were queried by the panel last week, and the three will tour the district ahead of these final interviews.
The district is seeking to replace Jim Greydanus, who announced his retirement after six years as superintendent, effective on June 30th. The board is slated to meet until 9 PM, which may indicate that a final decision on who to enter into contract negotiations may be made following the interviews.
