FENNVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, June 5, 2023) – After a nationwide search, the Fennville Board of Education has settled on a local candidate to be the next district superintendent.
Following a final series of interviews last Wednesday, the panel opted to offer its vacant operational leadership position to Dr. Doug Greer. Currently the Director of School Improvement with the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District, a post that he has held for 12 years, Greer beat out fellow finalists Carlos de la Barrera of Connecticut and Nicole Reyherme of California, as they emerged from 15 applicants for the position.
Greer, who lost out to Brad Lusk of Fowlerville a year ago for being the superintendent of Hamilton Community Schools, is slated to begin his new duties on June 30th, when the retirement of Jim Greydanus as Fennville’s school leader after 10 years takes effect. A contract should be reached between the district and Greer by the time the board holds its regularly-scheduled monthly meeting on June 19th.
