HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 18, 2023) – An American Idol winner highlights the featured attractions for the 95th Tulip Time Festival.
Executive Director Gwen Auwerda announced on Wednesday the entertainment and exhibition lineup for the May 4-12 renewal of Holland’s annual signature event. Scotty McCreery, the 10th season champion of the then-Fox TV talent search program as a 17-year-old in 2010, will perform his country hits on May 10th at Central Wesleyan Auditorium.
Other musical acts coming to the festival include the ABBA salute band Dancing Queen on May 4th at the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place, along with returning favorites The Texas Tenors (May 8th at Central Wesleyan Auditorium) and Fiddle Fire (May 7th at Central Wesleyan Auditorium). The Holland American Legion Band is back with two shows at Hope College’s Jack Miller Center on May 8th, and Rhonda Sider Edgington will perform on the Dutch Organ at Pillar Church on May 5th.
New for 2024 at Tulip Time is a guided VIP motorcoach tour around the Tulip City’s main attractions, with lunch included, and a traditional Dutch meal and dance performance. The Tulip Immersion Garden returns to Beechwood Church after over 27,000 visitors came to the North Side venue to see how more than 65,000 tulips are used to create an unique viewing experience. At the Holland Community Theatre, “On Golden Pond” will be presented.
In addition, there will be community Dutch Dance lessons; historical guided walking tours; the Art in Bloem fine arts showcase at the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place; the Friends Good Will tall ship dockside tour, as the vessel sails north from its home at the Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven; the kickoff Tulip Time Run at Kollen Park on May 4th; an opening weekend Tulip Time Artisan Market at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds; the Quilt Show at the Midtown Center; and a floral arranging class held at Huisman Flowers on Holland’s North Side.
Of course, Tulip Time’s two parades are set for May 9th and 11th, and fireworks over Lake Macatawa near Kollen Park on May 11th.
