WRIGHT TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 21, 2023) – A 33-year-old man from northeast Ottawa County was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash east of Coopersville on Monday evening.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Eric Westveer, the unnamed motorist was northbound on 40th Avenue around 5:45 PM when he slowed for a stop sign at Cleveland Street. The driver then pulled into the intersection and into the path of a westbound Jeep, piloted by a 16-year-old Muskegon boy who had the right of way, as the east-west road had no traffic sign there.
While the youth was unhurt, the older man was taken to an undisclosed “local hospital” for treatment, as the crash remains under investigation.
