Grand Valley State swept a basketball doubleheader from visiting Davenport at the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale on Friday night. In the women’s opener, Ellie Droste tossed in 15 points as the Lakers prevailed, 66-44. William Dunn tallied 19 points as the men handled the Panthers in the nightcap, 75-65. GVSU takes a week off for final exams before returning to the court, with the women at Ohio State next Friday evening, and the men in Lebanon, Illinois to battle McKendree on December 17th.
In state major-college basketball on Friday night, Oakland won at Eastern Michigan, 77-63. On Saturday evening, Youngstown State is at Western Michigan and Central Michigan is at Creighton.
