Carla Beukema, age 63, went to celebrate with Jesus on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
Carla was a nurse for 28 years then moved to quality assurance for 5 years all at Holland Hospital. She loved the Lord and used her musical talents in service of the Lord by playing organ and piano, having played for hundreds of church services, weddings, and funerals over the years. She was married to her husband, Robert for over 38 years.
She loved her family dearly and spending time with her extended family and her sister, Kris. She was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed reading to her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping trips with her family. She was involved in Coffee Break ministries at First Christian Reformed Church for years. She enjoyed playing games with friends and family and especially loved to attend her grandchildren’s special activities. She handled health issues courageously without complaint. She was loved and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by parents: Carl and Audrey Burgess; father-in-law, Alvin Beukema; and stepfather-in-law, Raymond Veltema.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Beukema; sons, Nathan and Abby Beukema (William, Elle), Joel and Shelby Beukema, Matthew Beukema; mother-in-law, Emily Veltema; brother, Jon and Pat Burgess; sister, Kris Burgess; in-laws, Tom and Connie Beukema, Linda Renkema, Mark Beukema; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation with the family is 3:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St. Zeeland, MI 49464.
Funeral services are at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Evergreen Ministries, 4512 48th St. Hudsonville, MI 49426.
Interment to take place in Zeeland Cemetery.
