GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 1, 2024) – Two drivers were injured in a two-vehicle crash south of Jenison late on Wednesday night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Smoes, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the intersection of 8th Avenue and Jackson Street just at 11 AM. That was where a northbound SUV was broadsided by a westbound pickup truck that drove through a stop sign. The force of the collision pushed both vehicles off of the roadway and into the front yard of a nearby residence.
The 69-year-old Hudsonville man driving the SUV and the 41-year-old Grand Rapids man guiding the pickup truck were taken to undisclosed Grand Rapids area hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision. The incident remains under investigation.
