GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 22, 2024) – Two drivers were hospitalized following a collision south of Jenison, at one of Ottawa County’s busiest intersections, on Friday night.
According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Smoes, a 32-year-old Jenison man driving a sedan northbound on 8th Street, attempted to turn left onto 44th Street around 8:45 PM. A southbound sedan, driven by a 17-year-old Wyoming man, collided with the turning vehicle, although Smoes didn’t say which driver may have been at fault, or any other circumstances surrounding the crash.
The Jenison man, unbuckled at the time, sustained serious injuries, while the younger man had minor ailments. Both were taken to undisclosed Grand Rapids area hospitals for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation.
