GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 20, 2024) – A 55-year-old Grand Haven man is set to spend the next quarter of a century or so behind bars.
On Monday, the office of US Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Mark Totten announced that Brian Stefono was sentenced to 27 years in prison, followed by a decade of probation, after pleading guilty to federal child sexual assault and exploitation charges.
This stems from an arrest 11 months ago by the state police Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes against Children Task Force. A tip into the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led authorities to Stefono’s residence, where there were on his computer several videos of him sexually assaulting a four-year-old multiple times. He was initially charged with 12 felony counts.
