ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, June 6, 2024) – A 29-year-old suburban Grand Rapids man faces a July 23rd sentencing date after not contesting several child sexual abuse and porn charges in Allegan County Circuit Court.
On Tuesday, Gary Christopher Carlson entered no contest pleas on 26 felony counts stemming from an arrest nearly a year ago on a multi-agency execution of a search warrant at his home in Wyoming. According to Allegan County Sheriff’s Detective Lieutenant Mike Brown, the investigation began in his county after Carlson apparently was hired through an online child care provider to supervise two girls, aged 14 and two.
“The convictions in this case were achieved through a great team effort with the Allegan County Sheriffs Office, the Prosecutor’s Office, and of course the family involved. The safety of our children is vitally important in our community and a number one priority of the Prosecutor’s Office.” – Allegan County Prosecuting Attorney Myrene Koch
The sentencing will reportedly be a year to the date after Carlson’s arrest.
