HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 24, 2024) – The first true litmus test of Michigan’s early voting nears.
It’s the third such session since voters approved such advance electing two years ago, after the Presidential Primary of February 27th and the overall Primary Election on August 6th. Detroit began its early voting last Saturday, with the rest of the state following suit with its nine-day period beginning this Saturday.
What’s the value of voting early, either in person through November 3rd, or via absentee ballot? Ottawa County Clerk Justin Roebuck.
As for those financial costs to local units of government, Roebuck said:
Ottawa County has four centers where voters can cast ballots early – the halls in Georgetown, Grand Haven and Polkton townships, along with the state Health and Human Services building off of James Street on Holland’s North Side. That is also where City of Holland voters who live south of 32nd Street can cast early ballots, according to Allegan County Clerk Bob Genetski.
Genetski is confident that the system is in place to handle early voting in his jurisdiction.
Of course, voters can head to the polls on Tuesday, November 5th, at the traditional window of 7 AM to 8 PM.
