LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 24, 2024) – There are five semifinalists vying to assume the operational leadership of a Lakeshore community.
On Wednesday, a search committee, comprising of members of the Laketown Township Board and residents, narrowed the list of hopefuls for Township Manager from 40 who had applied, and 11 that were initially sifted by former Holland City Manager Ryan Cotton of retained consulting firm MGT, to five. The selection was done behind closed doors, which is allowable under the state’s Open Meetings Act because it was a personnel matter, and the applicants had requested such confidentiality.
The identity of the five finalists will be disclosed when the agenda for the October 30th special meeting at the Township Hall (4338 Beeline Rd.) is posted. Those five will be interviewed by the board during a 9 AM session, with a second round of interviews slated for the following Wednesday afternoon, November 6th, also at the township hall.
Laketown Township is looking to replace Al Meshkin, who is retiring on January 3rd after 35 years as its manager.
