ROBINSON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 9, 2024) – A 20-year-old man from the Central Florida town of Avon Park, along with a female passenger, were injured in a two-vehicle crash west of Allendale on Friday afternoon.
No names were disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Keith Biros following the incident that occurred around 4:30 PM at the junction of 120th Avenue and Lake Michigan Drive (M-45). It appears that the Florida man, driving a black sedan, approached the intersection from the south and attempted to turn left in front of a southbound sliver pickup truck, towing a utility trailer.
The force of the collision pinned the woman inside of the vehicle, and after being extricated by rescue workers, she was flown to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Her driver was treated at the scene for bumps and bruises, while the 25-year-old Coopersville man driving the pickup was not hurt.
The incident remains under investigation.
