LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 10, 2024) – A decision on who will be the next operating leader of a Lakeshore community could come this week.
The Laketown Township Manager Search Committee, comprising of current and future board members, has set up a special 5 PM meeting this coming Wednesday evening at the township hall (4338 Beeline Rd.), where a recommendation on who should be that municipality’s next manager could be made. The committee last week decided to make site visits of the three finalists for the post – current Allegan County Clerk/Register of Deeds Bob Genetski, Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman, and Grand Haven Township Assistant Manager/Human Resources Director Karen Sherwood – after failing to decide on one person to offer the position to.
Former Holland City Manager Ryan Cotton of MGT, the firm retained by the township to assist in the managerial search, will provide questions for the committee members to ask on their visits.
Laketown Township is looking to replace Al Meshkin, who plans to retire in January after 35 years as its manager.
