HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 20, 2024) – Hope College honors one of its legends this weekend.
The first Glenn Van Wieren Classic takes place on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, as the Flying Dutchmen and fellow MIAA member Olivet take on Indiana-based Rose-Hulman and DePauw at DeVos Fieldhouse. The four basketball encounters on the DeVette-Van Wieren court celebrates the accomplishments of Van Wieren, Hope’s winningest men’s hoops coach, who won 660 games and 17 league titles before retiring in 2010.
Friday’s matches feature Olivet versus DePauw and Hope against Rose-Hulman, with the MIAA teams swapping opponents for the Saturday contests. You can hear both of Hope’s games – at 6:30 PM on Friday and 2:30 PM on Saturday – on The Lakeshore’s 92 7 The Van.
