HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 11, 2025) – It apparently just wasn’t right to close down Holland’s annual signature event ahead of Mother’s Day. After all, the stars of the show – the Tulip – are still in bloom, and many people still head to the Tulip City as a treat for Mom, perhaps to get away from the crowds.
That seems to be the thinking of Tulip Time Festival officials as the 96th renewal concludes on Sunday. While there won’t be any Dutch Dancers around, and 8th Street through downtown will be reopened after three days of closures for two parades, there are still a couple of events on the docket for the 10th and final day of the celebration.
There will be volunteers guiding guests along Historic Walking Tours through Holland, beginning at Window on the Waterfront Park (71 East 6th St.), from 9:40 to 11 AM. The Skerbeck Carnival opens for a seven-hour finale in the parking lot outside of the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place (150 W. 8th St.), from 1-8 PM.
Tickets for both of these events can be obtained here. While final numbers won’t be available until later this summer, Tulip Time Festival officials feel that record crowds came to the Holland area for the festivities through its run that began on May 2nd.
As for the tulips themselves, the annual Tulip Dig to benefit the Holland in Bloom urban horticultural awareness initiative is slated for Saturday, May 31, at Window on the Waterfront Park, Windmill Island (1 Lincoln Ave.), and Centennial Park (Central Avenue at W. 10th St.).
