LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 15, 2025) – While the efforts to have a state budget for Fiscal 2026 on Governor Whitmer’s desk by the state-mandated deadline of June 30th continue in Lansing, lawmakers continue to tweak the current spending plan.
On Wednesday, the House overwhelmingly approved a $41.7 million adjustment for certain capital outlay projects under the umbrella of the state Department of Natural Resources. Speaking for its passage was second-term Democratic Representative Joey Andrews of St. Joseph.
Audio PlayerAmong the projects that are in line for these funds was $400,000 for the Eastmanville Connector on the Idema Explorers Trail non-motorized path along the Grand River. The measure now goes to the Senate for its consideration.
